Biography

Catherine Anne Kunz specialises in international arbitration. She also regularly advises clients on contract, corporate and commercial law.

 

Catherine Anne Kunz has acted as counsel or arbitrator in numerous international arbitration proceedings, in particular in the energy, telecommunications and construction sectors, both ad hoc and institutional (under the ICC, LCIA, SCC, UNCITRAL and Swiss Rules) and governed by a variety of procedural and substantive laws, including Swiss, English, Spanish and Russian law.

 

She is a member of the editorial board of the ASA Bulletin, the Swiss Arbitration Association’s journal and has been appointed Regional Representative (Europe) for the LCIA Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG) in 2016 for a three-year term. She is also a member of several other professional associations, including the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA), ASA below 40, the Young Arbitrators Forum of the ICC (YAF), the Geneva Bar Association and the Swiss Federation of Lawyers.

 

Catherine Anne Kunz returned to LALIVE in 2016, where she had previously practised arbitration and litigation (2010-2014), after having worked in the international arbitration group of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Floms LLP in London (2014-2015). She completed her training with BCCC Attorneys-at-law LLC in Geneva (2008-2010) and also worked as a law clerk in the international arbitration team of the Geneva office of Winston & Strawn LLP (2006-2007).

 

Catherine Anne Kunz graduated magna cum laude in 2007 from the University of Fribourg (Bilingual French-German Master of Law, with major in European Law) after having spent one year as an exchange student at the Humboldt University in Berlin. In 2007, she obtained a Certificate in International Business Transactions with Chinese Characteristics at the Cornell-Bucerius Summer Law Institute in Suzhou, China.
