Biography

Nhu-Hoang Tran Thang joined LALIVE in 2016. Her main area of practice is international arbitration, including both investment and commercial arbitration.

 

Nhu-Hoang Tran Thang has acted as arbitrator, counsel or assistant to the arbitral tribunal in over twenty-five arbitrations conducted under a variety of rules (ICSID, ICC, UNCITRAL, SCAI, LCIA, CRCICA and DIS) and related to a variety of industries (including oil & gas, banking & finance, telecommunications, transportation, mining and pharmaceuticals).

 

Before joining the firm, she worked as an associate in the office of one of the leading Swiss international arbitrators (2012-2016). Prior to that, she worked in the arbitration teams of magic circle firms in Paris  and at arbitration boutiques in Geneva and London.

 

Nhu-Hoang Tran Thang holds an LL.M from Northwestern University (2009), a Master 2 in Litigation, Arbitration and ADR from Paris II Assas University (2008), a Master 2 in International and European Economic Law from Paris X Nanterre University (2007), a Master in International Business Law from Paris I Sorbonne University (2006), and a Master in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (2005).

 

The current Co-Chair of Young ICCA (International Council for Commercial Arbitration), she has lectured at Paris II Assas University (2015-2016) and within the ICC Summer Course on International Commercial Arbitration in Paris (2016 and 2017). She regularly publishes in the field of international arbitration.
