  Domaines d'activité

Michael E. Schneider est l'un des associés fondateurs de LALIVE. Il pratique l'arbitrage international depuis plus de 35 ans en tant que conseil dans des procédures ad hoc ou soumises à divers règlements, dont ceux de la CCI, du CIRDI, de la CNUDCI, du SCC, du CRCICA, du Fonds européen de développement, et aux Swiss Rules, ainsi que sous l'égide d'autres institutions internationales telles que l'OMC et la Commission de compensation des Nations Unies. Il est également très souvent nommé arbitre (arbitre unique, président du tribunal ou co-arbitre) dans des procédures soumises à des institutions suisses et étrangères. Il fait partie des panels d'arbitres du Comité national suisse de la CCI.

 

Les principaux domaines d'activité de Me Schneider sont les litiges mettant en présence des Etats et des multinationales, dans les domaines de la construction et du génie civil, des concessions gazières et pétrolières, des produits pharmaceutiques et des télécommunications. Il a une vaste expérience dans la gestion de litiges complexes et dans l'organisation de larges équipes d'experts de formations et de cultures différentes.

 

Me Schneider est actuellement Président de l'Association Suisse de l'Arbitrage (ASA). Il est également vice-président de la Commission de l'arbitrage de la CCI et a participé à plusieurs de ses groupes de travail (révisions du règlement d'arbitrage de la CCI en 1998 et 2012, construction, référé pré-arbitral). ). Il a présidé le groupe de travail II (arbitrage) de la CNUDCI à ses sessions à New York et à Vienne (2006-2010) sur la révision du règlement d'arbitrage et est membre du comité exécutif du Centre d'Arbitrage International de Dubaï (DIAC).

 

Dans le cadre de ses activités dans l'enseignement, Me Schneider est directeur d'études du Centre d'étude et de recherche de droit international et de relations internationales de l'Académie de droit international de La Haye (arbitrage transnational et contrats d'Etat). Il a obtenu une licence en droit et effectué des études post-grade à l'Institut universitaire des Hautes Etudes internationales de Genève. Il a étudié le droit et l'histoire aux Universités de Munich, Bonn et Genève. Il a également effectué un stage AIESEC au sein de l'entreprise Shell en Sierra Leone.
